Editorial Magazine

Objective

To develop familiarity with editorial layout design through research. Looking closely at margins, columns, and the balancing of image and text. Look at magazines for reference. To practice visual communication through editorial design layout and illustration for a chosen article. To apply typographical rules, graphic design principles, and practice editorial design with using Adobe InDesign.

Process

To get started, I pinned a bunch of basketball photos related to Kyrie Irving. This helps me set the mood. I sketched out a bunch of layouts to see which one would look best. Once I figured what layout I wanted, I start working on a style guide.

Finished Design

As a long time sports fanatic, I wanted to create something fun and engaging to sport fans. I chose a sports article from the Seattle University SU Spectator and put my own creation to it.
